Peter Jones Found through Ropeadope. It's beyond what I can compare - a first foray into this area. Damn good music. Favorite track: Love Me Down (feat. Tasita D'Mour).

about

And now the new album: "Spaghetti Blaster". Gilberto takes a different approach on funk music by using all female vocalists, doubling electric bass with minimoog, stripping out the guitars and horns and making keys as the lead. The result is an infectious groove that sounds like an old school boombox driving down the streets of New York. Electro funk is the foundation with elements of jazz, hip-hop, and soul throughout.

Gilberto brings a diverse and solid cast together: Giulio Martinelli on drums, Paolo Zoboli on bass, Enrico Gabrielli (Calibro 35) on keys with guest vocalists Heidi Vogel (Cinematic Orchestra), Cecilia Stalin, Tasita D'Mour, Laura Vane, Katie Miller, Eagle Nebula.
